Utan Kayu River Sheet Piles Repair Has Reached 65 Percent

The Utan Kayu River sheet piles repair work in RW 05 and 12 Utan Kayu Selatan, Matraman, East Jakarta has touched 65 percent. Its repair has been ongoing since early July and is targeted to be complete by the end of this August.

This repair is urgent as if it is ignored, it will cause severe damage and will disrupt the existing drainage system

Agus, Field Supervisor for Matraman Sub-district Water Resources (SDA) Executing Unit acknowledged that the damage occurred when mud dredging was done, causing collapse in some parts due to age.

He went on to say that there were two points that reached 100 meters in length on the west side of the location and one point with 100 meters on the east side.

Based on the information in the field, tens of officers were seen repairing sheet piles on Jalan Galur Sari Timur using a heavy equipment for transporting debris and material.
